Mural for Frida Kahlo
Mural for Frida Kahlo

I was not sure whether to post about this as I have already posted about the South Bank but this was different as it was all about an experience which is actually what I wanted for my 60th. So the day began with a coffee at the Globe before arriving at the Tate Modern for our allotted time slot. Anyone who knows me knows that I can do art galleries and museums at super human speed, not because of the exhibits more due to my attention span and willingness to get things done. I have to be honest I always try to slow myself down, especially if I am with someone else but it was actually quite easy this time as there were 10 rooms of Frida artworks or related items. I have to say that I particularly enjoyed the mural at Blackfriars on the way to the Tate and also the views of the Thames and St Paul's from the top floor, which the kind maitre d' allowed us to have a look at without having a lunch reservation. The trip was finished off with a lovely stroll down the river to London Bridge before hotfooting it back to the wilds of Shoeburyness. Culture complete!
