Night-Swimming in January

Okay I have to admit that I probably only swam outside for about 10 minutes but I am wary of swimming alone, even without the added risk of chilly temps, impending darkness and slippery slabs! This has been my happy place for the past 6 years and it was so fantastic to go on Saturday with friends, with the unexpected bonus of meeting other friends there. The evening started with laughs and finished with laughs. I am now safe in the knowledge that someone of my rotundness and advancing years is no longer able to gracefully, if at all, get out of the back of a mini. It made us giggle uncontrollably which did not help the task in hand. I am sad that my 6 visits a year will no longer be my guilty pleasure but it will give me a chance to trial other spas. If you have not been it is well worth a visit, this is probably the most boring of the pools there but I had to have photographic evidence that I am still stupid enough to freeze my bits off.
