Above Ig Slovenia

Real Snow

Well this is definitely a place and not a city or even a town. or village. I am saying that it is Ig but actually it is just around the corner and up the hill, a very snow covered hill at the moment. Where Ig has a shop, a library and a church the only public building here is a Kindergarden but it does also provide meals for OAPs so wrap around care, if you like. Not sure that there would be much point coming here unless you know locals, which I luckily do. I woke up on 4th Jan to this beautiful blanket of snow. On other visits, I have been amazed by being above the clouds in perfectly clear skies with little to know view of foggy Ljubljana in the distance, as if it does not exist until you drive through the marshes of Ig to find it dank and damp. Do not misunderstand me, Ljubljana is beautiful but sometimes the weather is not so much. More of that for another blog.
